Longer days filled with plenty of sunshine, rising temperatures, and all the other harbingers of summer have us lusting after Spanish wine. Spain sort of just screams heat, and there’s a very sexy, untamed quality to its wines.

Whether you’re longing for a waxy, sun-soaked skin contact wine that tastes like eating citrus on a day where the AC broke, or a volcanic white that’s as fresh and crisp as a snappy coastal breeze, Spain has you covered. Its diverse array of wines conjure up memories of ocean swims, sandy toes, salty skin. And we want to share that feeling with you. Bodega Clandestina Pet Nat Ancestrale Confiscat 2016

This pet nat made from Xarel-lo is equal parts decadent and refreshing. If you’ve got a little sweet tooth, Clandestina's Ancestrale Confiscat is an ode to lemon meringue pie and vanilla soft serve. Think brown sugar, buttercream, gentle bubbles, and citrus custard -- an ice cream social in a bottle.


Envinate Valle de Orotava 'Palo Blanco' 2020

Electrically pristine and pure; the sea on a clear day. Envinate's Valle de Orotava Palo Blanco from the Canary Islands is composed of 100% Lístan Blanco. The vines thrive in the volcanic soils that are signature to the region, lending the wine its distinctively mineral spine. A high-toned white that drips with salinity. Consider yourself refreshed. 


Tentenublo Rioja Blanco 2019

Bottled elegance, with a lacework of smoke, pear, and stone. The Tentenublo Rioja Blanco is 30% Malvasía Riojana, 30% Jaén Blanco, and 40% Viura aged in a mixture of oak and concrete. A beautifully balanced White Rioja that's an ode to the richly textured and powerful White Riojas of yore, without being overly oxidative. The perfect blend of old and new.     


Bodega Clandestina Blanc Malvat 2020

Straight up tropical. Clandestina's Blanc Malvat is comprised of 100% Malvasia from a high altitude plot in the Penedes region of Spain. After harvest, the wine ferments in a mixture of demijohns and amphora (for added texture). This graceful and open bottle is kind of like an orange dreamsicle -- a touch of creaminess lends depth to a juicy orange citrus brightness.


Mas Goma Cosí Joan Orange Wine NV (sold out now, sorry!)

A waxy, citrusy, liquid sunbeam from Mas Goma composed of 100% Xarel-lo from their estate vineyard that’s been family-owned for 70 years. This wine was aged in amphora after the initial fermentation process for about six months, lending it good structure and tannin. Plenty of caramelized orange peel, peach tea, and apricot aromas make this the ultimate summer skin contact wine.
