Mad Irene is a table wine co-fermented with white hybrid grape, Brianna and red hybrid grape, St. Croix.
In early October 2023, Brianna and St. Croix were handpicked together from organic-farmed Buffalo Creek Vineyard in Douglas County, NV at 20 brix and 19 brix. Buffalo Creek Vineyard is both the only commercial Nevada vineyard and hybrid grape vineyard in Nevada. After fruit was harvested, they were partially foot tread together, leaving some fruit whole-cluster to amplify and balance the tropical fruit notes of Brianna and the smooth tannins blue floral and fruity notes of St. Croix. Mad Irene was fermented partially dry before pressing directly in to neutral French oak barrels. In early February, Mad Irene was racked clean off lees and blended before bottling. Unfined. Unfiltered. No Sulfur added.
