This lighter-bodied red from Serbia is composed of Kedarka, a crazy rare grape that once made up 60% of the vines in the Hungarian Kingdom. During the Communist Regime, the percentage of plantings fell to 1%, and the Mauer family has the oldest plantings in the world. A super tangy mix of bright red berries, dried rose hips and tart tomatoe sashay about in the bottle of living history.

The Maurer family has been crafting wine on the banks of the Blue Danube for four generations now, with Oszkár Maurer currently leading the charge.
Oszkár’s mission is to highlight indigenous Serbian varietals, making the wines as pure and natural as possible with minimal added sulfur.
The Kedarka was fermented in open top vats, then raised in Hungarian oak for 12 months.
