Winemaker Jeremie Choquet is based in Monthou-sur-Bièvre (Cheverny) and has worked with with winemakers Pierre-Olivier Bonhomme and Pascal Pibaleau. In 2018, he established his estate with Blandine Floch after years of working in several industries with a focus primarily on viticulture. His story is full of lots of jobs, a bum knee and navigating the many hurdles from classification to finding start-up capital, which all feels very relatable (and human). The tiny 'estate'  (2.5ha) is comprised of a patchwork of parcels and equipment purchased or donated by friends like Capriades and Olivier Lemasson.

This bottling is 100% Pinot Noir -- 10 day carbonic maceration with a minimal amount of sulfur at bottling from a seven-row parcel grown on sandy soils. Ripe fruit (blackberry + baked sour cherry) and herbaceous on the nose (fresh mint + soft blue basil). The labels were done by Jeremie,  and the graphics are by his then-wife, Blandine.

When thinking about how this 'value wine' got to the corner of North Capital & Florida, it's hard to call it a bargain. Rebekah trucked over to Dumbo on a ricky CityBike to taste with importer Benjamin de Longuerue (who got up early to fit her into his schedule). He is part of a tiny company (Terrestrial Wines) trying to make it in the niche wine world, while also supporting even smaller producers who are pouring their entire lives into something they love. As the entire food and beverage world evaluates the way we approach cost, value and equality, this wine represents the epitome of precious luxury.
