Derrumbes Durango is produced in the remote village of Nombre de Dios in the northern Mexican state. It is a varietal made exclusively of Durango’s endemic agave Durangensis made by Maestro mezcalero, Uriel Simental. Cooked in underground stone pits, fueled with black oak. Fermented underground in wood and clay vats. Distilled in a hybrid wood and copper still.
Think summer melons and bitter citrus fruits, tamarind, Taleggio cheese, pine and distant smoke. Bottled at 44.9% ABV.
