Make Chardonnay cool again.
The Populous Barra Vineyard Macerated Chardy does just that. The organically-farmed Chardonnay was destemmed and spontaneously fermented and macerated in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts. An unfined and unfiltered wine, with aromas of dried citrus peel and orchard fruit.
- Shaunt Oungoulian and Diego Roig teamed up to create Les Lunes and Populis wines for two reasons. Les Lunes is all about natural wines that epitomize an agable, classic, California style. Their Populis label is meant for a more playful, drinkable vibe.
- Shaunt and Diego vinify their wines in the basement of Shaunt’s parent’s home in Orinda, just east of Berkeley.
- The fruit was sourced from vineyards throughout Mendocino County, and each vineyard was harvested by hand then fermented separately.
