The Domaine du Clos Naudin Vouvray Moelleux Le Goutte d’Or is among one of the most storied dessert wines from the Loire. The Moelleux cuvées are made in rare years, when the vines contain a significant amount of residual sugar. Composed of 100% hand-harvested Chenin Blanc, spontaneously fermented with 6 month’s lees contact to add a bit of body. Sweet, yet balanced with good acidity.
- Philippe Foreau is the third generation of the Foreau family to make Vouvray after his grandfather purchased Domaine du Clos Naudin in 1923.
- The estate’s cellar was dug out of the tuffeau limestone soil by hand.
- All wines are spontaneously fermented, with no malolactic fermentation or any chaptalization.
- Vouvray comes in several different categories, ranging from Sec (dry) Tendre (off-dry) Demi-sec (sweet) to Moelleux (very sweet.)
- Korean BBQ.
- Platform shoes.
