Julien Altaber is one of Saint Aubin’s more forward-thinking vignerons and is no stranger to experimenting in the vat room. La Fleur Au Verre Rouge is composed of biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir that grew on clay and limestone soils. The fermentation started with just a little help from white wine, and the wine had a short vatting period of 4 to 5 days prior to finishing fermentation in barrel.

Julien Altaber spent his childhood amongst tractors and cows: basically, the guy was a born farmer.
After working his first harvest at 16, he knew that winemaking was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and interned in Mâconnais and Beaujolais.
Julien eventually got his first winemaking gig working for Catherine and Dominique Derain where he studied Organic and Biodynamic winemaking before starting Domaine Sextant in 2007.
