Spritzy sprightly lemon soda vibes.
This juicy fizzy delight from Finger Lakes-based Chepika Wines is composed of the hybrid varietal, Catawba. This copper-skinned grape makes low tannin, savory reds and rosé wines. The organically farmed grapes were grown on Keuka Lake and vinified with indigenous yeasts with 6 month tirage prior to being disgorged in April of 2020 with no additives.
- Chepika is a passion project helmed by friends: Finger Lakes native and winemaker Nathan Kendall and sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier.
- The name comes from the Lenape language spoken by the Indigenous people who lived in Delaware and means “root.”
- The central mission of Chepika is to go back in time and highlight nearly forgotten varietals of the Finger lakes region that date back over 200 years.
