Airy vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley. The wine is approximately 75% Chambourcin and 25% Chardonel from two blocks on opposite sides of the same hill. One block consists of interplanted Chardonel and Chambourcin; the other block consists solely of Chambourcin. All the fruit was picked on August 19th and was cofermented. The vineyard is owned and farmed by Tim Jordan (Star Party, Common Wealth Crush, Midland) who farms it with the goal of supporting as much biodiversity as possible, even though this typically means very small yields. Peter later learned that they had Covid during this pick; that part wasn’t very pleasant.
