The foliage is changing color and the temperature is dropping which means it is time to wear warm sweaters and drink more orange wine!

This is a selection of skin contact wines that we particularly dig right now:

Vini di Giovanni Trebbiozzo Frizzante 2020

Incredibly refreshing, juicy, and crunchy Trebbiano Pet Nat from Umbria. The base wine is fermented to dryness, then bottled and refermented with more grape juice from the same vintage. Zero sulfur added.

Maurer Furmint 2020

Bright, and crisp Furmint from Serbia. The grapes are partially affected by botrytis and ferment on skins for only a couple of days. The wine bursts with mouthwatering notes of grapefruit pulp, green pear, and yellow plum with more savory, spice-driven flavors picking through in the finish.

Orly Lumbreras Milagritos Blanco 2019

A blend of 75% Albillo Real with 34 days of skin contact blended with 25% Chasselas with 20 days’ skin contact from Sierra de Gredos, Spain. Salty minerality with a pronounced yet perfumed profile of lavender tea, dried rosebuds, and peach skin. I’d recommend decanting this wine before serving.

Eminence Road Farm Winery Pinot Gris 'Five Dots' 2020

Made in a Ramato style, this Pinot Gris shows brilliant copper color in the glass. The aromas of watermelon, red plum, and pomegranate are underlined with a chalky minerality. Probably my favorite Pinot Gris from the East Coast.

Mersel Wine 'Phoenix' Merwah 2020

Own-rooted indigenous Merwah from Wadi Annoubine in Northern Lebanon. The vines are planted at 1800 feet above sea level. Notes of Yuzu, green pear, and beeswax. Though the grapes ferment for 21 days on skins the wine is lifted, elegant and fresh.

Trinity Canyon Ancestors Voskehat 2019

This stunning wine comes from one of the oldest winemaking regions in the world - Armenia. Made from own-root Voskehat grapes fermented for 5 months on skins in traditional clay vessels called Karas. It tastes like honey on a comb, orange marmalade, and dried apricots.
