Crazy in a good way.
A kooky Pét Nat made up of some truly crazy grapes indeed! This Pét Nat by Marto is composed of Würzer, Huxelrebe, and Müller-Thurgau. The Huxelrebe was macerated on its skins for over 3 weeks and secondary fermentation took place in bottle with the additional grapes. This crazy lil’ Pét Nat isn’t disgorged, so be sure to open it with a glass nearby in case any gushing occurs.
- Marto is a renegade wünderkind wine producer based out of the Rheinhessen in Germany and has an agricultural background.
- He was the first in his family to stop selling their fruit off to a co-op and start making wine instead.
- The property consists of 5-hectares of organically farmed vines, with some biodynamically farmed principles applied.
- Huxelrebe is a high yielding grape grown in Germany that has a lot of Muscat aromas and Würzer is a crossing of Gewürztraminer and Müller Thurgau.
