Mother Earth would be proud.
100% Fiano from 90-year-old vines in Southern Italy's Campania region. The wine received its namesake, “Gaia,” as an homage to Mother Earth. White florals, crystalline minerality, and a chalky spine make up this surprising orange wine.
- Cantina Giardino was founded by Antonio and Daniela De Gruttola, who sought to rehabilitate abandoned old vineyards in the hills of Irpinia.
- The Fiano vines are planted 500 meters above sea level, in a mixture of clay and limestone soils.
- The wine macerates on its skin for two days, ages one year in a mixture of chestnut and acacia barrels, then rests for two years in bottle upon release.
