This is a blended wine from the clay flatlands East of the village of Fleurie. That sounds unflattering, but it's precisely where Alain Coudert/Clos de la Roilette are located, and just a few minutes down the hill from Greg's vines in Les Moriers. Hoppenot's fruit is farmed organically, and you will probably taste a similarity in character to the village-level Roilette. This wine is more carbonic and fresher with electrifying acidity, but the terroir is unmistakable.
