Vintage: 2018 was warm and dry.
Harvest: The bunch of grapes were harvested by hand in the end of September.
Varietals: Furmint 65%, Hárslevelű 35%, Sárgamuskotály 5%.
Soil and estate: The Furmint and Hárslevelű grapes come from the Hegyfarok vineyard in Bodrogkeresztúr.
Hegyfarok is rich in minerals, with large amounts of rhyolite. The Sárgamuskotály comes from the first-class
Holdvölgy vineyard in Mád. The soil of Holdvölgy is highly mineral, with tuff, rhyolite and red clay.
Fermentation and Winemaking: Whole clusters were gently pressed before fermentation. Fermentation
occurred spontaneously in stainless steel vats (for the Furmint/Hárslevlelű) and in 280 L Hungarian oak barrels
(for the Sárgamuskotály). After fermentation, all of the wine was combined in large stainless steel tanks.
Aging: Aged in steel tank 18 months. Spent an additional 1 year in bottle before release.
Other details: Certified organic farming, no pesticides or herbicides.
Low sulfites added after the first extraction and before bottling. 3639 bottles produced.
