Glugworthy Grolleau in all its glory.
Grolleau is often given the short end of this stick but this deep purple varietal actually makes some pretty darn good wine – at least Julien Rousselot sure seems to think so. A lighter-than-air red with just a bit of carbon dioxide for a little added lift. Picture ripe black fruits with plenty of thirst-quenching acidity, making this wine a thing of pure beauty.
- Julien Rousselot initially worked within the socio-cultural sector, but discovered the love of wine after a wine bar was opened in the mid 2000s.
- He eventually settled in Rablay-sur-Layon and began apprenticing under winemakers within the region to learn the art of winemaking.
- In the vineyard, the vines are tended to organically and the vinification process has as little intervention as possible.
