Eduardo Torres’ Acosta IGT Rosse “Quota N” is composed of half Nerello Mascalese, intermingled with a mixture of 20% Grenache, 30% Greciano, Carricante and Coda di Volpe. The fruit was selected from 80 to 100 year old vines that came from a small, walled off parcel within the volcanic slopes of Mt. Etna. This wine receives its name due to the location of the parcel and the tiny dirt road that runs by it, called Strata Quota Nave. Eduardo wasn’t allowed to use the word, “Nave,” because its 1070 meter altitude exceeds the limits of the DOC, hence the name “Quota N.”

Eduardo Torres Acosta initially worked as a winemaker on the Canary Islands, other volcanic Islands off the Iberian coast.
In 2012 he moved to Sicily and interned with Arianna Occhipiniti.
He managed to rent plenty of fine parcels from locals and used to vinify his wines at Arianna Occhipinit’s property in Vittoria until 2017.
He works with Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Alicante, Garncha, and other indigenous varieties of the island.
