From Simons oldest vines planted by his grandfather in the 1960's, this Côt, aka Malbec, from Cahors is one of his best and most balanced wine yet! It was fermented in concrete, raised in foudres for 15 months, and then aged in concrete. Its balanced maturity and freshness with notes of Black Cherries and Blackcurrants gets us excited about trying more of his wines.
- Simon Busser is a winemaker’s winemaker; and the folks over at Percy Selections discovered his wines after seeing his bottles on numerous shelves of the vignerons they represent.
- Simon farms 7-hectares of Malbec, Merlot, and Gamay along the Loire River and practices non intervention farming and winemaking with a horse and plow.
- Stylistically, Simon is all about ripe grapes, significant extraction, and elevage in large wood or concrete vessels.
