This wine marks the 327th individual Portugieser we’ve imported to the U.S., securing our title as the U.S.’s single most important importer of the grape, followed by a small importer in Arizona who brings in two. The wine is darker than the “Kasi,” showing a deeper purple imbued with violet tones. It is staining across the mid-palate with a fine grip, yet it has just a mere 9.5% alcohol! This is an ultra-fresh wine showing at moments rawness alongside streaks of northern Piedmonte or Rhone structures. Finishes with warming spices, cinnamon and spearmint and goodwill for all.
