The Pretty Nuts Pét Nat is a blend of roughly 50% Blaufrankisch and 50% Syrah. This wine was fermented with no temperature manipulation at any stage of the process - something that’s pretty tricky and nerve-wracking to do! It comes with 4 different labels to represent four seasons and mixed and matched in the cartons; catch ‘em all!
- Alexander and Maria Koppitsch - husband and wife winemaking wonder duo - want to create wines that “bring you this kind of easy feeling of joy.”
- The vines were in Alex’s family after Alex’s grandfather went missing during WW2 and was a prisoner of war; he founded the estate when he returned home.
- Alex and Maria met at a local bar, and 3 months later she was pregnant with their first son Jakob - all while they took over the winery.
- Homok means “sand” in Hungarian, and it symbolizes the soil the vines for this wine grew in and the important role of Hungarian culture in Austria.
