The cellar is just behind it, only a few meters from the ocean, and you can really taste that maritime influence in his wines.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHe works organically with old vines (40-100+ years) across about 6 hectares, sourcing from friends as well as his own plots. Everything is hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts, and aged in neutral French oak. The Capitán Xurelo 2021 is a blend of Mencía, Caiño Blanco, and Espadeiro, bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with minimal sulfur.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIt's light, low-alcohol (11.5%), and meant to be chilled. Crunchy, mineral, with bright herbs, black pepper, and lively acidity, it's a rare red that really captures coastal Galicia.
