Riesling sourced from a hidden, backyard vineyard that doesn’t even show up on Google Earth, on the North Fork of Long Island. Crushed by a most gentle foot, whole cluster fermentation for twelve days, élevage in neutral barrel, bottled August of 2020 with no fining or filtration.
This is some aromatic **** – though different than the normal Riesling aromatics. Those die-hard FT fans might recall something of the “Gelber Muskateller” in this wine, though the whole presentation is a bit more staid, more restrained. Less cracked black peppercorn and more just dried herbs. Citrus driven, dense, with great balance and texture and that angelic Riesling acid. Hallelujah.
