The 2022er Trarbacher Gaispfad Riesling Kabinett Trocken is a dry wine (with 4 g/l of residual sugar) comes from fruit picked on very old-vines. This yellow-colored wine offers a backward nose made of pear, cassis, citrusy elements, ginger, white flowers, and smoke. It is beautifully tart and playful on the palate and leaves a juicy but playful feel of earthy spices, fresh herbs, and minerals in the long finish. This beautiful dry Kabinett is still rather backward and we would not be surprised if it deserved a higher rating at maturity, once the flavors have melted together and developed more presence.
