For Lambrusco lovers everywhere.
A slightly spicy sparkling blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot from the Veneto, the Ombretta Vino Rosso Carbonica is perfect for Lambrusco enthusiasts who want to try a little something different. The grapes were fermented in concrete and aged in botti - barrels - prior to undergoing secondary fermentation. This wine has plenty of lift and freshness, with aromas of bright red alpine berries.
- Alex Della Vecchia started Ombretta Agricola in 2017 after apprenticing under Ernesto Cattel of Costadilà, a highly respected prosecco producer who believed in preserving the ancient traditions of yore.
- His family lives in an old Monastery that dates back to the 16th Century, and they keep a mixture of donkeys, goats and cows on the property.
- “Ombretta,” is Venetian slang for, “Little glass of wine.”
