In 1975, Benedict Leroy's parents started a small farm in Essoyes (Aube) and began planting vines. The farm grew to 4 hectares, included grazing land, and they sold their grapes to the local co-operative. Benedict took over the estate in 2009 and she began transitioning to organic farming and biodynamic principles. All of her bottlings are single site. The 'Les Cognaux' is 100% Pinot Noir from the Les Cognaux parcel on clay-limestone soils with a majority of grey clay. Aged 9 months in barrel and 18 - 20 months in bottle. Zero sulfur.
