Drink to feel powerful.
Vin Noe is an itty bitty micro domain run by California expat, Jonathan Purcell. The Chardonnay vines for La Sauvage were sourced from a .2 hectare parcel located directly above the winery with a Southwestern exposure - something highly unusual for white Burgundy outside of Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. The wine was aged in a single barrel for 8 months, and only 300 bottles of this rich and powerful beauty were made.
- Jonathan Purcell is a San Diego kid who knew he wanted to make wine at the tender age of 15.
- Jonathan started as a tractor operator at Domaine de Montille, and worked for many years under Philippe Pacalet.
- Vin Noe is based out of a 100 year old cuverie in Auxey-Duresses, and the wines are produced from purchased grapes sourced from Mâcon, Beaujolais, Puligny-Montrachet and Saint Aubin.
- Orange olive oil cake.
- Cloudy days.
- Cranking the volume up.
