The La Porte Saint Jean consists of 100% Cabernet Franc sourced from two different plots just outside of Montreuil-Bellay in Saumur. The vines are 40 to 70 years old. Once the grapes were destemmed and macerated for 3 weeks, the juice spent 24 months in barrique. While the wine is bright and ripe, its silky tannins make this one of his best cuvees yet!

Sylvain Dittière comes from a family of growers - rose growers; he decided grapevines were more interesting and began an apprenticeship at the iconic Domaine du Collier.
Some of Sylvain’s mentors include Marc Tempé in Alsace, Gérard Gauby, and Thierry Germain.
The major red grapes within the Saumur Region are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pineau d’Aunis.
