This wine is a single vineyard, single barrel, 100% whole-cluster expression of Pinot Noir from Cottonwood Vineyard. The vines are own-rooted and about 25 years old. The wine was unique from fermentation, and it was destined to be blended into a larger lot of Pinot but it just didn't fit in. Its earthiness and smokiness, everything that makes it unique, would have been lost.
So here we present to you the true unadulterated essence of the Uncompahgre River Valley. Aromas of tangerines, blue fruit, and pine duff lead into a palette of strawberry, rhubarb, blueberry, eucalyptus, smokey cedar and dried sage,
Very limited quantities exist, with only ~24 cases produced. Drinking lovely now but we advise you to sit on it for as long as you can.
