Field blends to us are some of the greatest expressions of vineyard site and vintage. Varietal characteristics integrate early in the process lending to an extremely smooth, complex profile of wet slate, warm strawberries, and edible flowers.
This wine is a co-fermentaion of Merlot, Mataro, and Garnacha meaning all three
varieties were picked and fermented together. Primary fermentation was in a
concrete tank with 2 pumpovers a day for 2 weeks. The wine was then pressed and racked to neutral French oak for five months before being bottled. Unfined, unfiltered, native yeast fermentation, and no additions save for a small S02 addition post malolactic fermentation.
Variety: 33% Merlot, 28% Mataro, 39% Garnacha
