COLLONCE NORTHERN PERU - Producer - Sarela Colunche

In the Amazonas region of northern Peru, the village of Collonce sits at 1850 masl. The sentimental value of ancestral beliefs that the land and wildlife reflect the free, protective and daring spirit of those that inhabit the area. Growing coffee in Collonce is all that Sarela Colunche has known. Farming the way she saw the generations before her, she uses ancestral coffee sowing and pruning techniques that align with the phases of the moon. This lot of Caturra and Typica is playful, rich and refreshing. Bosc pear and sugar plums dances their way through butter and brown sugar into a gingersnap.

LOS ANGELES DE EDEN  CENTRAL PERU - Producer - Juvencio Gamarra Cubos

 To the Junin region in the central Peru, the rural village of Los Angeles de Eden sits at 1400 masl. With just over 3 hectares of coffee and corn cultivation, the first 10 years have been a continuous learning time for Juvencio Gamarra Cubos. He proudly reinvests his earnings back into the farm, providing a way to increase the biodiversity while improving the ecology of the land he loves and relies on. This lot of Caturra and Geisha is elegant, refined and delicate. Sour cherries and blackberries give way for lemongrass and apple blossom to decorate a landscape of cashew butter cookies.

From the Puno region of southern Peru, the village of San Juan del Oro sits at 2000 masl. Doña Juana was known as a strong and determined woman that produced high quality and inspired her community to strive for better. It is her work that her son, Joel Palero Calcina, managed this year as Doña Juana past away last year.  This lot of Caturra and Bourbon is full, syrupy and expansive. Marmalade and black currant integrate their way within folds of heavy cream and praline that whispers a cinnamon and walnut goodbye. En Memoria de Doña Juana.
