Sauvignon Blanc & Menu Pineau from fifteen-year-old vines that thrive on limestone soil. The wine was hand-harvested and vinified in barrel, prior to resting one to two years in oak. Waxy orchard fruit intermingled with spiced, toasty qualities, all wrapped around a high acid, mineral core. An age-worthy stunner.
- Claude Courtois does not consider himself to be a biodynamic vigneron, but he farms a balanced and chemical-free 13 hectares of vines in the Sologne VDP.
- Claude’s son, Etienne is starting to help his father out with the vinification process, and is continuing his father’s legacy at the estate.
- In certain vintages, Claude and Etienne use a small percentage of Menu Pinneau, a white blending grape commonly used in the Loire Valley.
