Rose Crush continues our Willamette Valley blends conversation in the form of rosé made from grapes that are later ripening (Dolcetto and Gamay noir) which means that we can harvest the fruit fully ripe while retaining the vibrant acidity. This color comes naturally from the direct-pressed grapes and because of the full ripeness of the skins the color bleeds easily when grapes are pressed.
This Dolcetto fruit comes from one of the coolest AVAs in the Willamette Valley, the Eola-Amity Hills AVA and was planted in the Amity hills in 2007 at Jubilee Vineyard. This vineyard was one of the first to work with Chad to diversify their pinot noir plantings by grafting Gamay noir and heirloom selections of Chardonnay on their old Pinot noir vines.
We love the aromatic fresh red fruit profiles that we get from both the Dolcetto and Gamay off of this sites volcanic soils that are enhanced by the vibrant acidity that this vineyard delivers, thanks in part to the cooling influence from the Van Duzer Corridor out to the Pacific Ocean.
