Winemaker James Jelks has always been fascinated by Georgian wines, and Kind of Orange started as an accidental(ly delicious) cuvee that has evolved into a yearly tribute to amber wines. A truly special skin contact because James doesn't know now many more vintages of this cuvee he'll be able to make.

Florèz Wines is a one man operation run by James Jelks in 2017, and his process is all about prioritizing old world technique and sensibility.
After completing his degree in Oenology at UC Davis, James studied winemaking all over the world for 10 years before starting his own project in Santa Cruz.
James has always wanted to visit Georgia and learn more about the country’s ancient winemaking techniques.
