Another wine resulting from the 2023 spring frost. Geneva White #2, an old hybrid variety bred at Cornell, blended with skin-contact Grüner Veltliner. Stone fruit, rye cracker, and just enough structure. Hybrids or vinifera: who will dominate whom?
Hand harvested. Geneva White #2 was destemmed and soaked on its skins for 24 hours, then pressed. Fermented in stainless steel.
Grüner Veltliner was destemmed and fermented on the skins for 10 days, with once-daily punch downs.
After aging in a mix of stainless steel and neutral barrel, the two varieties were blended and bottled in summer 2024.
