If the Thievery Corporation song could be a bottle of wine, it would be this. This blend of Viognier and Merwah is a 50/50 split of organically-farmed grapes from the Bekaa and Qannoubine Valleys in Lebanon. The wine underwent secondary fermentation at 20 days and completed fermentation in bottle.
- Mersel Wines is the brainchild of Eddie Chami, an Australian born Lebanese winemaker who believes in highlighting the indigenous varieties from the region.
- Lebanon has a rich winemaking history that dates back to 1550 BCE, when the Phonecians established trade routes that connected Lebanon’s coastline with the rest of the western world.
- Merwah is one of the indigenous Lebanese grapes, and the vines are about 150 years old.
