2018 was very hot for the folks at Weiser-Kuntsler and when one of their smaller parcels of Riesling ripened, they were hoping some humidity would come botyrize the grapes so they could make sweet wine. The humidity never did, but they were left pristine ripe fruit. This happy accident was vinified as an experiment, and it resembles fine Champagne without the bubbles.

Konstantin Weiser and Alexandra Küntsler founded this micro-domaine in 2005.
Everything at this 4.5-hectare estate is done by hand, and the sites are worked both organically and biodynamically.
The Ellergrub Vineyard is one of the Grand Cru sites that Konstantin and Alexandra tend to.
