Holger Koch has been quietly setting the standard in Baden since 1999, long before spotlight found the region. Farming organically and working with a deeply Burgundian instinct, Holger crafts wines that balance precision with an easy, irresistible charm.
This Pinot comes from loess soils on flat, sheltered sites at around 240m elevation, bringing a softer, more open-knit expression. A blend of Baden and Burgundian clones, it’s fermented with indigenous yeasts and sees a gentle 14-day maceration in large wooden casks, followed by 9 months aging in the same vessels. The result is light, seamless, and quietly expressive—pure cherry fruit, supple texture, and a lifted freshness. We look forward to these wines all year; we preordered this wine in January and it sold out upon arrival.
