Alexandre Giquel's Chenin Blancs are liquid proof that less is more. Alexandre is one of the few vignerons within the Loire Valley to farm his vines entirely without tractors - he uses horses instead. The vines are only sprayed with herbal teas that Alexandre sprays by hand via a backpack, and the Chenin Blanc vines are about 90 years old. Alexandre Giquel is a Loire Valley native.
He tends to 3-hectares of vines that grow on a mixture of clay and silex - a rich, flint-based soil.
