Taganan is a field blend of native red grape varieties that thrive in the volcanic soils of the Canary Islands. Though some varieties are unidentified, Listan Negro, Listan Gaucho, and Malvasia Negro would be the big three. The vines here grow entirely untrained. During vinification, 30% of the fruit was whole cluster fermented in open tubs and concrete tanks to keep it bright. The resulting wine is smoky and spicy with dark fruit.
