About the Producer: Shawn Eubanks co-founded Rocklands Farm in 2010 with his friend Greg Glenn, whose family owns the land. Located in Poolesville, Maryland — just 45 minutes from D.C. — Greg manages the livestock while Shawn with Chris Ahn oversees the vineyards and winemaking.

When I visited in 2019, Shawn described how the project began organically, rooted in regenerative farming. Alongside Rocklands, he runs Native Selections, a distribution company (and source of many of our wines). Wine was always present at his family table, and his interest deepened when his older brother launched Percy Selections, a California importer focused on natural wines.

Rocklands is a true small-scale venture, transforming family farmland into a working winery. The operation is bare-bones and primarily direct-to-consumer — onsite and online — with little distribution beyond Maryland. Though it evokes the pastoral image of winemaking abroad, its scale is modest, its infrastructure built slowly, and it faces the challenges of working outside an established wine region.
