Note: Blueberry, cassis, shale and tobacco leaf, light bodied with bright acidity and fine tannin.
ELEVAGE: Grapes were crushed into a bin with fifty per cent stem inclusion and let to ferment with once daily punchdowns. After seventeen days the grapes were pressed and settled juice was moved to old French oak barrels to complete fermentation, including full malolactic, which finished in August of 2024. In October the wine was racked off its lees and bottled without fining or filtration.
MISCELLANEOUS: The last wine from this old block of vines. Thankfully we will still be able to source cabernet sauvignon out of Elizabeth's Vineyard from a more recent planting. We have a soft spot for this unique expression of cabernet grown in shale soil. Light, bright, weedy and full of tannic, blue fruit, it is somehow a perfect light, summer red.
