100% Nebbiolo from legendary Piedmonte producer Roagna. The Langhe Rosso was crafted from young vines planted in the historic Pajé vineyard, a limestone amphitheater that opens up to the Tanaro River. The wine was fermented in large wood casks, and then vinified in neutral oak barrels for approximately five years. A serious introduction to Italian Nebbiolo and a great value to boot!
- Roagna has been around since the late 1800s, and is one of the Piedmonte’s leading estates.
- This family-run property is currently helmed by Luca Roagna.
- Langhe Nebbiolo is typically a softer expression of this varietal, and is known for being lighter-bodied, more easily accessible, and having floral characteristics.
- Nebbiolo is thought to get its name from the Piedmontese word, “nebbia,” which means “fog.”
