Péter Benedek is a third generation winemaker crafting small-batch, traditional wines in the highland wine region of Mátra in Hungary. Mátra is a continental climate region, with brown forest clay soils mixed with volcanic basalt, rhyolite and bentonite.
The single vineyard Pinot Noir is spicy and fruity, with flavors of cranberries, sour cherries and caraway. Fermentation and aging for 7 months on the lees in stainless steel. Rough filtration only, vegan.
