The 2023 version Lovebirds 2021 is a coferment of Pinot Noir (50%) and Chardonnay (50%). This red/white blend is always the one we look forward to most of James' releases each year, as it always captures the whimsical yet technically sound nature of his winemaking. In terms of who brings what to the relationship – Chardonnay brings the acid and tang, while Pinot Noir yields red fruit and good structure. As far as couples go, we stan.

Florèz Wines is a one-man operation run by James Jelks in 2017, and his process is all about prioritizing old world technique and sensibility.
After completing his degree in Oenology at UC Davis, James studied winemaking all over the world for 10 years before starting his own project in Santa Cruz.
