100% Pinot Noir. Brun is clearly best known for his Gamay, but he planted Pinot Noir on the clay-limestone soils of his estate vineyard in Charnay in the southern Beaujolais in 1991; there are now a total of 3 hectares. As for all Terres Dorées reds, the vinification is traditional Burgundian. The grapes are rigorously sorted and destemmed, crushed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats. Maceration lasts approximately 3 weeks and aging is also in concrete with the occasional use of a little old oak.
