I had an idea for a gin that is very British, using parsnip - which reminds me of dampness - combined with the spicy sparkle of the Asian spices found in Indian food. So we created the unimaginatively named Asian Parsnip - celebrating both the homely character of that most English of root vegetables and the warming stimulus of spices from the Indian subcontinent.

Parsnip was used historically as a sweetener and has a uniquely nutty profile. Combined with spices of the Far East – ginger and green cardamom – Asian Parsnip is a warming gin with lingering light sweet notes.

“This gin - my first - celebrates both my homeland and the pleasures I’ve enjoyed over many decades of international travel at other people’s expense. It sounds like a slightly mad idea, but then so did the telephone and look where that’s got us. It has won many awards and is officially acknowledged as a vital component of UK multi-culturalism."
