CWC partner Lee Campbell has always been a lover of the traditional Italian sparkling red wines known as Lambrusco, having discovered them as a young sommelier, and also having whiled away many afternoons sipping on them while nibbling antipasti on New York City’s Lower East Side. Libertango is an homage to these food-friendly wines, and is also a celebration of the incomparable Grace Jones, the cuvée being named after one of her most memorable songs, and the label featuring her bad-ass self.
In the place of the grippy Lambrusco grapes of Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy, we are using saperavi, blaufränkisch, and tannat, which certainly pack a punch!
