From the winemaker: "The wines come from 2 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines on the southern foothills of the Vercors massif in the Diois region. The plots—one of which is steeply sloped—sit at an altitude of 500 to 600 meters in a valley featuring clay-limestone and occasionally marly soils.
A rocky ridge rising to 1,000 meters to the southwest shields the vineyard from the summer sun.
These are the northernmost Clairette vines in France.
The wines (whites) are dry and aged in 400- to 600-liter *demi-muid* barrels; they are characterized by tension, precision, minerality, and freshness. Winemaking is straightforward and precise, utilizing indigenous yeasts. They stand out for their saline notes, pleasant bitterness, and aromatic clarity and finesse."
