In nearby Clarksburg, we pick Wilson Vineyard Chenin Blanc from a very thoughtfully farmed organic spot near Elk Slough, deep in the Sacramento river delta. This wine is aged on lees in large format oval shaped casks, hence the designation ‘en foudre’. This wine we label under St. Rey and is one the best Clarksburg Chenin Blancs around.
