The Texier Vin de France Rouge is a blend of 75% Cinsault and 25% Grenache. Le Preyna is the name of an old parcel planted with 75% Cinsault and 25% Grenache in granite soils. The grapes are pressed and fermented in concrete to keep things fresh and light before bottling.
Martin Texier led multiple lives prior to following in his father – the legendary Eric Texier’s – footsteps and returning to the vines.
Prior to winemaking, Martin was an economics major, then ventured into music and was an accomplished DJ.
He now has five hectares in and around St-Julien-enSt.-Alban planted with Muscat, Chasselas Rose, Grenache, Syrah, and Cinsault.
The property has many different soil types here: clay, limestone, gneiss, schist and granite.
